Catherine Byrne knows her way around a ledger. For 20 years, she has worked in accounting and auditing for a variety of public and private companies, not-for-profit and government entities. The NHD team will now benefit from Catherine’s invaluable expertise in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
Never one to shy away from hard work, Catherine graduated from California Lutheran University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting while working and raising a family. In 2000, she earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is now licensed in California and Nevada.
Before joining NHD, Catherine worked for the Nevada State Controller’s Office, serving as the Nevada State Controller from 2018 through 2022. In 2023, she took on the role of Chief Financial Officer for Nevada Housing Division. She now oversees the accounting, finance, budget, and legal functions at NHD.
Catherine was born in sunny San Diego, California to a United States Coast Guardsman and a retired nurse. Her son carried on the military tradition, and served in the United States Air Force. In Catherine’s spare time, you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her two dogs exploring Nevada’s state parks.
