Jeneeah Girma, better known as Nia to friends, colleagues and a long list of satisfied customers, came to the Nevada Housing Division in 2017. After our very first meeting, it was obvious that she’d thrive in our unique, public-private-friendly environment, so we welcomed her aboard. She brings a boatload of enthusiasm and a rather diverse professional history, including residential and commercial lending, personal and business insurance sales, public and private sector experience, and accounting.

Customer service, another one of Nia’s strengths, is clearly in her DNA. Ever detail-oriented and customer-minded, she has put her signature personal service and professional relationship-building skills to work for employers like Wells Fargo, Wynn Resorts and Allstate Insurance—and their clients.

Before joining us, Nia served as a Family Services Specialist in the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services in Nevada. Her dedication to helping fellow Nevadans continues in her role as a Homebuyer Programs Specialist.

Now comfortably at home at NHD, Nia is focused on educating homebuyers, training lenders and real estate professionals on Home Is Possible programs, and telling anyone who will listen about the programs that help Nevadans find their way home.

A Chicago native, Nia visited Las Vegas in the winter of 2003 and never left. She is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in biology. She is married with two young, active boys, a baseball mom and a traveling foodie.

Nia is based in the Las Vegas office.
